What is a good inexpensive acne face wash for oily skin?!?!?

Please help i have really bad acne on my forehead, nose, and cheeks….i would like to know some cheap acne face wash for oily skin……..plz list the price and where to get it thank-you!!

Ben answers:

Glytone. Best. Stuff. Ever.

It cleared my skin in a week, and now, 4 months later, I still have crystal clear skin! It’s not cheap, but it’s worth it, and it works. There is obviously no cheap over-the-counter skin product or everyone would have clear skin. This is formulated with glycolic acid, and it will transform your skin to brand new. It’s amazing, I suspect it’s a celebrity secret.

You can buy it online, at a dermatologist’s office who carries the line, or at a cosmedical spa. I found it through yahoo local by typing in glytone.

Ps- the first week will be irritating (some burning and stinging) while your skin builds a tolerance for glycolic acid, but it’s worth it.

These products are a little pricey at first, but they last. The mild gel wash is $28, but after four months, my bottle is still 1/2 full. A little goes a long way, so I’d say this is NOT expensive. You can afford $4 or so a month for facial clenser. The rejuvinate step one lotion is $38 for the bottle, and also still about 1/2 full.

Please try this, it’s your face and it’s worth it!! My face broke out when I was 10, at 24 I went through accutane, which kept me clear for 3 years, and then I broke out again. Glytone is amazing. Glycolic acid will be your new best friend.

Good Luck!!

I have oily skin and acne. However, I heard that face washes that are “meant” for acne are actually too harsh on the skin. What gentle face wash do you guys recommend? & face lotion?

Cetaphil gentle cleanser, Purpose liquid cleanser or Purpose Bar, Liquid Neutrogena, Aqua Glycolic cleanser are some good choices.

Kirstie asks…

Best face wash for oily, acne-prone skin?

I have oily skin with quite some acne. Which face wash is ideal to keep the acne under control?

Ben answers:

Use Clean and Clear or Neutrogena to wash your face if it is oily. If it is dry, you can use Dove. Certain face washes don’t suit certain people, and I have recd. Letters from some readers who tried Neutrogena and it did not suit them. I presume the same could be the case with Clean and Clear. So, first you could try Clean and Clear if you live in India, since it is locally made and far more economical. Also, remember that due to dust, pollution and oily skin, your face will get oily during the day, no matter what face wash you use. So if you want your face to stay oil-free during the day, you can:
Carry compact powder. You can dab it on your face when it starts looking oily,
Wash your face again during the day, or
Dab your face with tissue to absorb the oil – yes, it works!
Apply a light oil-free, matte foundation to your skin during the day, and when it gets oily, wipe your skin with tissue and reapply the foundation. Remember that certain compact powders may not suit you, so if you start getting a few pimples after using compact, try another brand. Also, remove the compact powder as soon as you reach home, and leave it on for as less time as possible. This will help reduce the chances of it irritating the skin. Applying compact powder is perhaps the best way of ensuring that your face looks oil free.
